That is the way to bounce back. I had a 64 in 1965. Was a 2 door hardtop with a 283 and 4speed. Would like to find another one.

When I was 16 my 21 year old brother bought the Chevy dealer's manager's demo. It had about 1,500 miles on it. The manager had the boys in the back put a 3/4 cam and solid lifters in the 283. I learned to drive a 4-speed on that car and wanted one ever since. I found this one online. It's identical to my brother's except his was a hardtop and this is a built 327 instead of a 283. I'm taking my trailer 670 miles tomorrow to pick it up. I'll have it back home on Tuesday just in time to get it under the Christmas tree. I was a very good boy this year.

To my thinking that is a better prize than the photo contest, might have cost a bit more though. Looks like a nice car that I could make room for when you have finished with it.

It looks nicer in the pictures than in person. The outside trim needs polishing or replacing. It has exhaust headers instead of manifolds. Then all the little things need to be fixed: dash lights don't work; turn signals don't work; steering pulls hard right; window tracks are worn out, etc. Good part is it's all there and pretty much original. I'll have it show ready by April.

I raced a 64 back in early 70s. Won a track championship the first year. I ran in a 6 cylinder class with a 250. Bored 1/8 with 327 pistons, Isky 505 cam, Clifford intake and exhaust. We put Pontiac V8 valves in the head and a 750 Holley carb. We beat the Ford 300 week after week.
