I hope someone buys it and keeps it going,I did get some samples from them when I was redoing the front seat in my 55 Ford but their color was a little too dark so I got it from SMS instead. Plenty of places to get material but not many for correct original.

What’s crazy is, about a month ago, I spent a couple hours of a couple days working with Donna to correct their 31-32’ rumble seat cover patterns as they were off some and not producing good results as far as fit and looks. Now with the new patterns cut, they fit and look correct. Of course, now the business is defunct and it was all for nothing.

If you use synthetic, it won’t compare to Mohair. That’s all. But if you are happy, that’s what matters for now. It may matter if you sell it.

That's a real loss to the hobby. I've purchased kits from them for over 40 years, from Model A Ford Roadster to 1952 Chevrolet Convertible and several in between. The '52 was the last with them, from leather interior to convertible top and it was all as near perfect as possible. I would be hard pressed to replace tem as a supporting supplier. It was always a part of the restoration that I didn't worry about.

I am in the final stages of looking for interior samples for my 1950. I received several from LBB and was waiting for several more just to compare colors to the original. I'm sorry that they are closing - several of their materials were very close to what I wanted. I am very glad that I did not make a quick decision to buy and send payment.

I tried to contact David through PM to see if he knew how I could get in touch with a couple of the people I worked with at LBHC to see if they’d be interested in possibly doing interior work on the side. I never got any reply. Has anyone else been in contact with David?

Maybe some of the former employees, with assistance from a few car clubs and a go fund me campaign, might be interested in trying something?

I have emailed Lebaron Bonney's attorney about what is going on with the bankruptcy. I asked about when the assets are going to be sold expressly the patterns and material samples but I haven't heard back from them yet. I will keep everyone informed on what they say.

Maybe the club could help gather members in preparation in case there is something we can do to help anyone willing to start something up. A couple of thousand members pledging a few $ each could raise a good start-up fund. Maybe even some pre-orders?

sad to read these articles, but I think one would wonder what happened to money from the sale of the building? , that amount would help shore up any lagging payments for materials and labor costs, ,,,,,,,,if the business needed a shot in the arm for cash flow I truly think some business in the old car hobby are catalog and internet proof, especially when it comes to items made by hand
