Charlie,
Paul's is on my list. I haven't talked with them yet about prices. I'm expecting them to be more expensive from what everyone says. I just don't know how much more expensive. I don't mind paying more for a better job. The only question is how much more? I'm just checking out a few of the places mentioned and a few others I have researched. Everyone says they can do it all but I don't know. I've been screwed before on other less expensive items. Don't want to get ripped off on something as expensive as this.

Thanks for the info. Will be making a decision soon.

In order to help determine if the quality of the work and the cost match, customers need to ask probing questions. Experience of buffers (buffing are the most critical steps), number of steps that steel and die-cast (pot metal) go through. How much of the detail will get buffed away. What guarantees do they offer? Replace parts? Replate? or Refund? What is their policy on lost parts? Despite their claims all platers "lose" parts. A word to the wise take detailed photos of the parts taken or sent to platers and have them verify the number and condition. The better platers (also most costy) use several steps including copper, nickel and chrome. There are two different copper plating types cyanide and acid. The best platers use both.

Chipper,
Thanks for the info. Had a couple of those questions but will definitely include the all when I talk to the various companies. I was just going to send a list but pics of the whole lot is better. Didn't know about the 2 kinds of copper treatments. Thanks again.
