You can't damage the wiper motor with too much vacuum. Too much pressure can cause damage but vacuum is limited to the atmospheric pressure.
Thanks Chipper I pulled the top cover off and the sweeper seemed to be a little tight at the end of the stroke. I gave it a little push and it moves fine. I reassembled the motor and connected it to the vacuum side of the compressor. It works great!
The path of the paddle should be coated with a grease to lubricate as well as make a better vacuum seal. When the grease gets old and hard the wiper action gets weak or none at all. This is even true on a new old stock wiper moter. They have to be taken apart, old hard grease cleaned out and fresh heavy coat applied.
What do you do for the fine detail , thin gasket that seems to come apart when you take the top cover off? Are they available from some source? For me it is a real challenge to make.
The control parts are I believe under the pry off cover (tin). If the top of the motor housing with paddle etc is removed you will need to replace the gasket if destroyed. With bare clean housings if you put a thin colored grease on one housing with a thin paper between the mating half you can get a good outline for the gasket. It will take some patience and fine scissors to cut out. My motor used two identical gaskets so I folded the paper and cut both at the same time using cuticle scissors.
I pulled both covers off. The inside is liberally greased with a reddish colored grease. The only gasket is under the large cover. It is thin, however since mine is a rebuild (from Gary W.) the gasket appears to be factory made and still in good shape. The small cover has no gasket and I believe it has to allow makeup air into the wiper motor as I could not see any other opening for air to get back in. https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_/photo/AF1QipOeEtJypIo6bTiyg7mzKbBavFKK4BYiXG1c3ekK

I Have NOT been able to post a Google Image in a Message on these Forums due to Google linkage and formatting!!
Doing this yourself is really simple. You should have all the tools necessary to do it without having to download or purchase anything.
If you have a windows computer, you simply use the the Paint software that comes with Windows.
Locate your picture on your computer. While hovering over the picture with your mouse, click on the right side of your mouse, or right-click. A pop-up will come up with a list of options. Hover over the words 'Open With' with your mouse. A fly-out should appear that has an option for 'Paint'. Select Paint When Paint opens it will display your image. You will see 3 tabs near the top of the page. File/Home/View. Make sure the Home tab is selected. There are 5 sections under the Home tab: Clipboard, Image, Tools, Shapes, Colors In the Image section you have Select, Crop, Resize and Rotate. You click on the Resize option first. In the pop-up you have the option of resizing by: Percentage or by Pixels, select Pixels. The Horizontal pixel count should be reset to '100', the Vertical will change accordingly. You can now save the image. In this case your image was resized to 100x68 pixels. A lot of times I will have a large image that I bring in from my phone. It will be 3000 pixels by whatever. I will first resize it to 1000 horizontal pixels so that I can see the complete image. Then I will use the crop tool hone in on the part of the image that I intend to be focused on. Once you crop it it will resize the image again to the same 1000 horizontal pixels.
Play around with it. Paint is easy to use and you can find it on any PC.
Good luck. Let me know if I can help any further.

Gaskets and rebuild kits are available from several Model A part suppliers. I prefer Snyder's as I have been buying Chevrolet parts from them for nearly 50 years. Yes there are a few parts that also fit those Fix Or Repair Daily cars.

Well spent the weekend tearing down and rebuilding the wiper motor. I Took my time, broke it down and laid out all the parts as i took them apart, took pictures of most every step along the way. followed the instructions that came with my rebuild kit, even ordered an extra gasket just in case i destroyed the one in the kit !!
after tearing everything down time to clean each part up, remove the old grease and grime. I took my time doing this as NOT to damage any surfaces or break anything. also the copper parts of the paddle are very thin !! and their are NO replacements.
I ONLY had to trim one small section of the gasket, easily done with a razor blade. and realized on my model I did NOT really need the ROUND stop Sealer, but oh well.

once it was built, time to test it out... figured the best way to test a vacuum motor is with a vacuum !! but how to adapt it to the motor ?? I took my small house cordless vacuum, and then taped my plastic dollar tree turkey baster on to the end of the hose using vinyl tape (electrical tape). wanted to avoid any vacuum leaks. then the turkey baster end was a little to big for the vacuum connection, so wrapped a few turns of vinyl tape around the fitting and got a NICE SNUG fit. fired up the vacuum and NOTHING happened. short panic set in and thought the wiper was trash :/
then i thought how much vacuum is this vacuum actually pulling, so hooked it up to the Vacuum gauge, and it barely pulled 1 inch of Hg. so swapped out the cordless for the 5 gal shop vac. it pulls about 4 in of Hg. so connected it to the vacuum wiper motor. and away the wiper went. i was happy. let it run for a minute to make sure everything works correctly.
just for you guys, I shot a short video, make sure you turn down the SOUND, the Vacuum is LOUD !! Vacuum Motor Mechanisms at Work Vacuum Wiper Swinging Wiper Arm videos are a little large, so may take a few minutes to initialize and run but they are cool, especially the one with the mechanisms
ok, if you could NOT view the videos, they are now on Posted via YouTube : quicker more responsive vs trying to download and watch.... had to learn how to USE youtube again since google jacked it up!!
