The fuel gauge works but the low fuel light stays on. The schematic shows a relay, where is it? Is it in the sending unit in the tank or part of the fuel gauge or somewhere else.

Seeing no suggestions ,guess I will try a new fuel sending unit first then if that don't work I will try a new gas gauge in the dash, I will check it before reassembling the dash, could just remove the bulb but I like to have things work as was intended

I don't know but purchasing a shop manual would be a great help for this and any future reference.

I just looked at my factory wiring diagram and there is no relay. A tan wire that feeds 12 volts to the gauges and a pink wire that goes back to the sending unit and the sending unit has a black wire that goes to ground. I have had two 78 Corvettes and do not remember a low fuel light, maybe I never ran mine low enough. I would say the light would have to be controlled by the dash gauge when it see's low resistance from the sending unit.
