Hi All,

I'm trying to locate a correct, original air cleaner for a 56 '265' four barrel engine.

As I recall, the two barrel air cleaner is sorta tall and round. No 'snout.' Just round.

I simply don't recall the four barrel air cleaner. Is it similar, just larger? Or does it have a 'snout,' sort of like the later air cleaners??

Any description, better yet a picture, would be great! Thanks!!

Any then finally, does anyone here have one for sale??

Bill.

The 1956 4 barrel air cleaner has a flat snout.The very early 1955's had a round snout.The later '55's a flat snout.The 1955 and 1956 flat snouts are different.The 1957 air cleaner in lower.
Just arrived home and am getting caught up-will send a picture.

Gene,

Thanks for the email pics and info. And the info here in Chat also. I hate to go shopping when I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for. Your info will come in very handy and is much appreciated!!

Nice you found the pix of the 'new' car.

Bill,

I have seen a lot of restorable 4 bbl. air cleaners for sale on E-Bay. Another source is Howard Dobuck in Indiana. I will get you the information. Remember that the '56 4 bbl. air cleaner has a flattened snout and the top has spot rivets on the top. We'll stay in touch.
