Are there any tricks to installing the inside rearview mirror in a convertible? We can't seem to be able to get it installed :( and this has led to some saying that there should be another trim piece under the big trim piece at the top of the windshield. There are some small screw holes about every foot which some are saying are for this mystery trim piece...??? Help....

From CCi's how to restore your 1957 Chevrolet.... Install convertible rear view mirror stand. The mirror stand will secure the center windshield stainless clip and and the two large inner stainless pieces. The stand is secured with three screws. The middle screw is a chrome plated phillips head counter sunk sheet metal screw. The two outter screws are cad plated phillips counter sunk head sheet metal screws.Install each of the sun visor hooks with one chrome plated counter sunk phil. head sheet metal screw. The hooks should be pointing upward.

Hey Gator, Keep looking ahead and you will not need the rearview mirror.

Cute Don, but I think most of us in the VCCA are always looking back not forward... Update: I think the "...and the two large inner stainless pieces." that Gene wrote in his post are the mystery trim pieces that have been causing the problem.
