Overall, looking good!

One question: Where is the membership roster/database? I looked around and didn't find it.

Thanks! Dean

Front page of website looks inviting !

I began a thread the other day, in "general discussions", asked you (Peter) about adding pics to posts.

Would you read that thread and reply ?

Thanks.

While I have only clicked on the link provided and read the front page I like what I saw.
If most other moves are a indication there most likely be a couple of gremlins show their ugly heads but between Bill and Peter they wont be able to cause much mischief.

I took a look at my Membership status information. It appears that my assigned VCCA number is no longer in use or isn't visible to me. Also my VCCA join date isn't listed any longer and my vehicle owner ship has a vehicle (a 1968 2 door) that I've never owned. These items where correct or present in the earlier listing when viewed recently.

If VCCA membership numbers are no longer in use, dose that mean that a Region Membership chairman has to type each Region members name to verify their National membership status prior to accepting a new member or renewing a membership?

Peter, Welcome and we look forward to your good work.

I have an issue. I can no longer log onto Member's Only. I sent a request for a new password but haven't received the email yet. Is that function still in the works?

Verne

Fixed now - - Thanks.

Bob,
Bill is still responsible for the forum features. Have you discussed it with him?

Member numbers are still in use. Just a display issue. I'll see what i can do to display it. Same with join date.

The car data is what I got from the previous records. Email me a memberservices@vcca.org with your member number and i"ll update your profile.

Bill sent me a P.M.

I thought I read (somewhere) that the VCCA was going to follow the AACA format, thereby making the VCCA pics easier to post.

VCCA New Website

I have a friend in Montana, who has been an ongoing VCCA member.

I needed his address.

I know he's still with us, on earth, but the search for a member is now more complicated.

Unless he has recently opted out of the VCCA, I'm being told he doesn't exist in the VCCA membership, according to the new search forum.

Bob,

Expired members are currently not searchable in the website.

I'll touch base with Bill Barker to see if he allowed expired members to be searchable in the old site.

I've discussed this with Peter. You should be hearing from him. If not, then send an email to him at memberservices@vcca.org

Previously, if both people were VCCA members, then the webmaster would look up the expired members email and/or phone number and send it to the current requesting member.

that policty remains. Email me and i'll send you an expired member's contact info.

Just the last few days I'm no longer automatically taken to the first unread post in a thread. In other words if I'd already visited and read several posts in a thread then returned to the same thread later to read new posts in the thread, I'd automatically be taken to the first unread post. Now I'm taken to the first post in the thread, even if the thread is several pages long and I've read everything already. If that makes no sense I'll try to explain better. Is this something to do with the update? Can it be fixed? It's kind of a PITA. Thanks.

Tiny,
There have been NO CHANGES to the CHAT site as a result of the new VCCA homepage being implemented. I know better than to have TWO big changes take place at the same time. :-)

So, any changes that you are seeing to your account were probably done by yourself. Let me explain.

For everyone's benefit, let me explain the "NEW POST" feature in Chat. Depending upon which SYTLE you have selected (to display the page, column and forum layouts), you may see a folder along the left side of each topic. If it's yellow, then you have postings in that forum that you haven't read. If it's white, then you have read ALL posts in there already.

This folder flag is automatically changed each time that you open a forum. It will mark all messages as having been READ by you.

When you come in again, it should go to the very first UNREAD message.

YOu might want to look at all of the forums in your list and see which ones are ALL READ and which ones say NEW POSTS are available. Then experiment by visiting different ones.

I dont log out each time I look at Chatter but I do mark all posts as read. When I come back to "Forum list" the yellow flags show there are new posts and when I click on the thread it goes directly to the first new post in that thread.

I was on my laptop when I posted that. I'm on my desktop now and all is normal. Just this morning my laptop wouldn't connect so I may be having an end of life issue with my laptop. It was old when I bought it, an XP machine that had been upgraded to Win7. The laptop is in the process of restarting now which might fix the lack of wifi problem. I can live with the having to scroll, especially now that I know it's probably the laptop becoming senile. I hate Win10 so I'll probably shop for another Win7 machine.

I've experienced this as well. Some posts take me right back to the beginning but some take me to the newest posting that I haven't seen.

It's been very random so I don't think it's just you Tiny,,,

I've also had the same thing happen so I agree it is site related and not the user or equipment.
