Pretty well wrapping up my wiring and installed my tail light and brake light bulbs today. I guess for the first time I realized that the bulbs point away from the lens???? is that right???? The car has been converted to 12v, anyone have a suggestion on bulb number for good lighting? It currently has a #67. I bought this car in pieces, so everything is a challenge! Thanks

This is an aftermarket housing but this is how the OEM housing and bulbs mount. I don't see any way that the bulbs could point away from the lens.

For the stop light I would suggest a #1073 32 candle power bulb or a 1141 21 C.P.
For the tail light a #67 will be OK. It has 4 C.P,

You can get a bit brighter tail light with the #89. It's the same size as shown above but has 6 candle power.

Well, let me explain what I did. I put the sockets into the tail light housing and the way the tank was bent at the bottom it allowed the screw to line up and the small tang at the top to align perfectly with the slot in the top that holds the trim piece around the lens. Now I see by the pic that it bends towards the back. GEEZ. Thank you guys so much. this car has been a challenge but getting close to a test drive!

There should be a small pocket at the top back of the housing for the tang on the bracket to slide into.
