Hi ho all , migrated here from the 4 cylinder page, I have just picked up some what I assume to be 18" wooden spoked wheels, no split rims the fallow rim is 17", they have the Chev oval head bolts and the older style square lugs for the split rims and 14" diameter brake drums front and rear, am I right in thinking they are 1932-33 wheels? 1931 was probably the last year that wood wheels were offered for passenger vehicles, and that was only as an option . There was a order form in the 1931 chevrolet service news.

The 1931 optional wooden spoke wheels would have been 19 inch and I think the smallest diameter wooden spoke wheels that were ever available by Chevrolet.

In the USA the last wooden spoke wheels were indeed 1931 or actually hold over from 1930. Yes they were 19". I am not prepared to unequivocally state that 18" wood spoke wheels were never installed on 1932 or newer models. Some foreign assembly plants could have a local supplier or even imported wheels.

Hmm ? I'm only sumising they are Chev because of the oval headed lug bolts, the huge brake drum made me think maybe truck? Or could they be another GM make like Pontiac ? Ray . you should now see a pic http://www.shop.raycycled.com/?wpsc-product=1931-chevrolet-wooden-wheels

I think I might have a lead, they could be fro a 1927-28 Gardner, made in St Louis, Gardner were the body Builders to Chev fro many years and went out on there own in 1920 as well using many Chev Parts and a Lincoln Engine,

Hi Alf Does the Gardener use the same rim bolts and lugs as your Chev, and does it have 14" Brake drums, Ray
