My Hemmings Email led me to this 1940 Chevrolet coupe for sale. 1940 Coupe I was wondering about two things, first the armrest and second the tool kit. I would like to know how close to the real thing both of these items are. The documentation is very interesting and of course the car looks like a beauty.

The arm rest looks about right to me. I'm not sure the car had one though.

Very nice looking car.

Price is way too steep. My opinion. Looks like it should be in the same class as a 47 or 48 with a Fulton on it. Agrin

Instead of the 34.5k, I think a more reasonable price would be about half that. After who in their right mind would want a lowly 40 Business coupe? Almost as bad as a coupe/pickup. Agrin

Paint is ugly also. Agrin

Don't know about the tool kit. I think someone on here makes them up and will join in an advise you on it. Looks impressive with that box and all.

The tools look original and correct and even the box they came in. Only should have one flat blade screw driver and from what I can see of the jack it is OK also.
Arm rest looks A OK.It says the interior is original and looks it.
Only srange thing is the wierd heater and yes, worth about 1/2 that price.

I have seen replacement armrests and other than the material, they look about the same. So thanks, that is good information for me.

The arm rest looks like my `40....the dash looks like it needs to be restored...looked like the paint was burned out in the picture[Linked Image from i79.photobucket.com]? I agree, way over priced
