My 1936 Master Coupe doesn't have a "bird" hood ornament. Should it?

The "bird" was an accessory. About 95% of the Masters had one.

they regularly show up on ebay usa in various condition.

You may want to search for an accessories brochure to see all the items available from Chevrolet for your vehicle.

Thanks. If only 5% were without them, I think I will stick with the simpler one.

Thanks. Sounds like my non-bird one is rare.

not necessarily, whomever purchased the car did not want to spend the extra $3.00 to have one. Or may they took it off or somebody lifted it.

Does it have the "blank" chrome piece on there or are there holes without that part?

I have an awards or lamp base that was made out of the dealer removals. I bought it at a garage sale for a few bucks. see it here maybe.

went to GOOGLE SEARCH and typed in * 1936 Chevrolet radiator ornament * .
One picture came up with all the ornaments from 33 37 and both the master and the standard versions, VERY DIFFERENT, were on view.

The 1933, 1934 and 1935 production caps were they same for Master and Standard.
The 1933 accessory cap with Eagle was for both series. Same for 1934.
IN 1935 THE sTANDARD ACCESSORY CAP HAD A BIRD WHICH WAS ALSO THE SAME BIRD USED ON A mASTER-JUST WAS NOT REMOVABLE.
iN 1936 THE LOW BULLET WAS THE SAMME FOR PRODUCTION FOR BOTH MODESLS....AS WAS THE ACCESSORY "bIRD".
sAME FOR 1937. 1938 HAD NO ACCESSORY ORNAMENT.

sORRYABOUT THE CAPS/.
