Can anyone tell me how many 1966 Chevelle Convertibles were made with the 327 cu. inch engine, 350 horse power, automatic, and power steering, with a factory tac in the dash? It is red with a white top, just beautiful!

The answer is that no official Chevrolet records exist on how many Chevelles were built with specific combinations of options like: a 1966 Chevelle convertible with a 327, tach, automatic tranny, etc. The best that I can say is that for the 1966 Chevelles:

46,230 Chevelle came with the 327 engine (no breakdown on hp rating)
8,025 Chevelles in 1966 came with a tachometer
292,437 Chevelles in 1966 came with a powerglide transmission

There is no breakdown as to how many of these options were bundled together in either the 2 door, 4 door, station wagon or convertible models.
I have a 1966 Chevelle convertible also.

Zero 327/350 horse engines with powerglide were manufactured in a 1966 Chevelle.

Going back into my 1966 Chevelle info, there was NOT a 350 horse, 327 offered in 1966.

There was a 275 horse, 327 offered, the only 327 for 1966, in a Chevelle body.

Versions of the 396 were offered, going beyond the 327/275.

327 /275 = RPO L30.

In 1965, there was a 327/350 horse offered in the Chevelle, with 4 speed only. RPO L79.

396 engines were not offered in 1965 Chevelle, thus the higher output 327/350.

I owned a '66 396/325 HP Chevelle SS Convertible.

I recall a Z16 model Chevelle being built in 1965 with the 396 BB. They only made 201 and not many are left.

Sorry for my oversight.

You are absolutely correct on the Z16, being made available in a "limited fashion" for 1965.

RPO code Z16 was not listed as a "standard option code" in the 1965 order guide.

Scroll down to page 11 to see the specs. It was the 396 BB, solid lifter, 375 horse version.
