I have had such good results in this column--- How do I remove the center key and cylinder from the ignition switch on my 54 bel air? I think I've tried everything. THANKS.

To remove the cylinder from the switch turn the key (counter clock wise) to the locked position.Insert piece of wire into the small hole on front of switch.You will feel a spring loaded pin depress slightly.As you depress turn a little more counter clock wise ,give cyl. a little tug and it should be in your hands.To replace put it in the same position and just put it back in and give it a little wiggle and it will lock back in. :cool2:

Thanks for your help. I was told differently and had no luck. My cylinder is in and working and I do appreciate the help from this source. It is a great group.
