Me thinks there are two errors here. One is the price, there too many zeros. The other is the description as being all original.I don't remember MrMacks '53 interior looking anything like that.In VCCA judging that car couldn't
come up with enough points for a third junior because of all the things that are not original.

Well Gene I guess it can always serve as a bad example. Kinda looks like they cleaned out a couple of National Chevrolet Assoc.'s and J.C. Whitneys old warehouses and attached everything to this car. A one barrel, with Fenton pipes, and a cast Iron P.G. and a Wayne V.C. what a combo!
I have enough junk on my 53, but I will have to paint if I remove the oddball trim and also need to fill the holes in the bumper where the foglights are mounted, but I am not giveing up my bobbing head dog, the fuzzy dice and the Dixie air horns and the C.B. Ya!

JYD,....MrMacks car is great,Just what you would call tastefully decorated.Yes,the fog lights look great where they are.The strange thing is when you purchase a car you think of all the changes you want to make.By the time you get around to doing them you have become accustomed to the way it looks and you have seconed thoughts about changeing anything.

That is so true! I like gadgets myself, and I have a lot of them on my 1951 COE slideback 2 ton truck. Hum......I wonder if I could get $20,000 for it if I put it on eBay??  wink laugh laugh laugh

JYD and Chevy nut, It would be like getting rid of one of my $1200 Hounddawgs or one of my four children, come to think about it What would a 38 year old retired-US ARMY SFC, be worth? or the worlds most stubborn 36 year old housewife daughter? Probably would not be worth the pain...... But we had to give a little over $4k for the '53, so I guess I will just keep all of them and me and the old woman will live from SS check to the next.

No mention of a serious restoration that would justify the money spent. Sounds like he bought it for $30K and put in another $5K for the engine, tranny and JC Whitney catalog orders. Why would one rebuild an engine with 17K miles? I think the clock reads 17K but really is 117K. I agree that he made some bad choices and is trying to get his money back. Too bad he got himself into that situation.
