"With all due respect, given that I said about just pulling his leg, that was an unwarranted and underserved comment".

Charlie, I took your comments as "pulling my leg". Thus my "make light of the situation" comments about cutting up the passport. No harm, no foul.

Being a novice to the touring aspect of VCCA, my intent was to learn more about tours, as the season draws near.

Bob… I good way to get onto one of the limited capacity tours is to email or contact the tour host and let them know you are interested. If the tour is full, you will be put on a waiting list. Often these tours are booked a year in advance. There are always people that reserve a spot, then life kicks them one and they have to back out at the last minute. The Eastern Six Cylinder Tour invites are sent out to those who participated the previous year, so it is a case of once you are in, the option is there for the next year. Franklin Gage is hosting this years in Richmond. There are also lots of good tours put on by local Regions. Contact your area director to get info from other nearby regional newsletters if you do not already get them.

Thanks for the info, Bruce.

I don't know about others but we try our best to include "first timers" if at all possible. That is not to say that the regulars are not just as welcome, just we think that a few newbees help make the tours more interesting and allow more folks to understand some of the benefits of VCCA membership.

Our first tour was the southern spring tour in 2008 and we were hooked. Had to get a 4 cylinder so we could go on those tours, doing both this year.

Not knowing the ins and outs of the "tour world", it appears I may have to wait until next year to tour, not knowing how fast these tours fill up.

Unless it's noted as "Full" in the G&D there are likely spots open in all of the tours listed. Pick one and contact the person listed in the ad. Don't be shy. You'll meet good people and have a lot of fun.

I did not see any tour, as being full now.

My comments were made about "filling up fast", based on replies I have read. Sorry if there was confusion.
