Is there any way to determine your car's birthdayt. By birthday, I am assuming that when it rolls off the assembly line, having passed all final inspections and is ready to ship to a dealer for sale.

I have only seen the birthday "approximated" ..... based on the sequence number of the serial number.

I consider the casting date on the engine as Justin's birthday (Aug. 20, 1928).

I know that he was assembled sometime after this date, but since I don't have the original ID plate, I gotta go with what I've got.

Cheers, Dean

How about when you could order a car and then go to the plant and watch it assembled. I think that may have been done in one day. Perhaps not, but the day it was ready for delivery to the person who ordered it would have been considered its birthday.

Seems the build sheet for any car would have included the date it was supposed to be built.

Seemes to me, also, that the factory would have records of the date each serialed numbered item was ready for transport to the dealer.

How in the heck are you gonna throw a birthday party for "sweetie" without know its birth date? Yeah, Tiny, how do you do that? Agrin

This right here shouldn't be any more difficult than trying to figure out a train schedule. Perhaps that's a bad comparison. Anyway, you get the picture.

A friend of mine (Ed Archer) threw a 100th birthday party for Leo, his 1906 Locomobile. Lurch (my '27 LM truck) was invited.

The party was held in the parking lot of a local junior college with driving and stopping 'games' for the antique cars.

Refreshments were served for the owners. ;-)

That sounds great. I bet there was a lot of fun had by all.

Was a locomobile powered by steam?

I want to have a birthday party for my 41 coupe. I plan to cook a pig.

Leo is gas powered. Here's a pic of Ed, his wife Karen, and Leo last September at the Ironstone show in Murphys, CA:

Birthday that's a great idea! One of the games could be "pin the tail on the Ford" On my WW2 rigs they all have a date of delivery stamped on their serial tag. My Chevy 1 1/2T is coming up. Bernice rolled off the Janesville assembly line and was drafted on Jan.13 1941
