The rust repairs mentioned would scare me off. Has a later 235 engine.
Price is about right all things considered.

Back Roads, what specifically. I see the engine compartment is a mess and steering wheel need paint. I was hoping someone knows who restored it and when. It's got MI plate on back and Al on front?

Thanks Gene, I'm concerned about rust issues as well. This is the lowest priced convertible I've seen in a year and a half of searching....That wasn't a project that is, and this one may be too.

I was thinking about that one too. I want a rust free frame/floors parts car to start with, but this seems to be about right where I'm at now with my current one. I'm surprised by the rust in this one, since the body and chrome looks so nice. Seeing it is from the south made me wonder if it was a Hurricane Katrina car??!!

The ebay one is missing the top pump as well, which is likely a pretty scarce item to find.

"green top" -ewww!

Looks like a dang good buy to me.

A little rust? Nothing to worry about. Easy to fix. Piece o'cake. I should know, right?

Before storage, men looked just like this one. Same color and everything. Looks bad now, though. Needs paint and full restoration but no rust other than some surface.type where paint has gotten thin. I'm thinking of making a rat-rod out of it.

Thanks Charlie, for you input I don't think I'll be a bidder unless someone here has seen the car and can give me a condition report. Buying on E-bay is such a "pig in a poke" situation.
Their was a gray 50 on Craigs list down in Fresno. The pictures looked real good sitting in his driveway. Then I saw it at the Goodguys car corral earlier this month...What a POS. Older restoration and was oozing rust from every seam. A number 5 car that needed everything redone. And He was asking $27,500. Buyer beware! They all look good in pictures.

The 1949-1954 cars here in the rust belt have the lower body areas , floors and floor braces rusted away. Convertibles also had a floor rust problem in dry areas. Appreciate why you want to proceed with caution.
Even some sections of the frames rusted out.
