Hello Everyone,

This may not be the right forum but I always get the best responses here.

Chevrolet carried the 6 lug bolt pattern for a lot of years, correct ??

I once owned a '68 C 10 pick-up and it had a 6 bolt lug pattern. Is it possible it is the same as my '37 MD ??

Because the pattern was duplicated on 15 inch pickup truck rims they have became popular for mounting radial and wider biased tires. You can change your standard 16 inch rims and tires for 15 inchers.

My 41 came with a set of 15 inch rims/tires when I bought it 11 years ago. I have changed back to the 16 inch rims.

It is getting harder to find the 15 inchers as these older trucks are recycled for their metal.

You would need to use different hub caps and the off-set will be different. Probably the rim width also.
The original 1940-1948 16" PASSENGER CAR WHEELS WERE 4" WIDE (BEAD TO BEAD)
The 1940-to early 1951 truck used the same wheel
A late 1951 and newer truck had a 4 1/2" wide rim and at that point this 4 1,2 " rim was sold for replacement for the earlier cars and trucks. That wheel was used up through the 1955 1st design trucks.
The 1955 2nd design truck 16" was 5" wide.wheel and the hub caps were retained by the bumps on the wheel, not clips. The off-set was only 1/16" different. This wheel went up to at least 1959. Not sure about 1959 and up because truck then went into a different book that I don't have.
The wider wheel would be better for radials.
This wheel would also fit 1937-1939. For that matter from 1929 and up.

By 1960 they probably used 15" wheels.
