I need help locating the master brake cylinder on a 47 wagon. I just purchased the car and need to check fluid levels. Additionally, what type of brake fluid is recommended? Thank you...

You can purchase a reprint of the 1942-48 shop manual from the Filling Station, www.fillingstation.com The manual will tell you all you need to know about the Master Cylinder and etc.

Should be under your foot...Carefully roll back the floor mat and remove the plug in the floor...You'll need a socket/extension and a ratchet wrench...Bring a flashlight and a funnel...3 dot works for me...Good luck...
