iagree I think you are making the best/safest choice by getting a different block.

Good move. Just make sure the engine has the same casting number as your engine.
Are they both stick engines?

Back to the photo's of the work being done...Maybe just the photo blur...The end mill seems to be going awfully fast for cast iron work...I might add I wouldn't use a drill chuck on presion holes ( too wobbly ) I'd use a collet...Nice to see the block is centered above the knee...Table is in great shape for a Bridgeport of that vintage...
