Hi,
I bought a 1929 Chevy Truck wreck a year ago, with the idea to mildly hotrod it. I started the dismantling and offered the drive gear for sale on various media. I got no real response. A few weeks ago I visited the Dutch Trains Museum with my family, and low and behold they show an identical truck, but fully restored. I am now in contact with the museum curator. He told me there probably is little interest in the parts, since my truck is very rare. They spent years before they found the truck and had it restored. (They needed this make and model because the Dutch Railways worked together with the first Dutch Road Cargo company, which operated these trucks.) I now consider to restore and not hotrod it, if indeed it is rare. Another reason I get no response on my parts adds could be these trucks are a dime a dozen so no one needs the parts.

Anyway, if you can shed some light on the rarity of this truck, please do so. I understand the general opinion here will be classic restoration anyway, but that is not the question.

Cheers,

Hugo

1929 Chevy trucks are indeed fairly rare. They were commercial or farm vehicles that were stored outside and therefore not many survive. Restoration can be an expensive undertaking but preserving them worthwhile.

How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!
