The Dinsmore compass didn't show up as as a car accessory until 1954 {part #986995}.

thanks for the pix it seems odd that there were compasses in the 30's and 40's yet not in the early 50's

After the stock market crash in '29, folks needed "direction" in the 30's and 40's.

By the 50's, folks were getting back on track, didn't need direction, as much. dance
