I was wondering if any of the 1955 chevy first series trucks were ever produced with the new for 1955 V8 engine but I can see that there is little information on how many were produced so I am afraid it may be a tough question. The reason I would like to know is because I think I saw one years ago and it sure looked original, I didn't think to much of it at the time but would like to know if anyone knows or has ever seen one.

The 1955 1st design trucks used the same engines as the 1954 trucks. Sorry, no V-8's.
The only major change was an open drive shaft for the smaller trucks.

My father had a 54 3800 which i drove quite a bit in my teens. The truck that I saw in the late seventies had the 54-55 grille, but under the hood was a V8 and I remember thinking that it looked like everything was aged the same and looked untouched original. Whoever put the V8 in that truck made it look like it was supposed to be there. Wish I could find it today!
