That would be JAY Hertz yellow car in new mexico . He has a small but great collection of cars fords and Chevrolets. Think its similar money but actually an Auzzie GM Holden body, they made 647 of those in Australia . mike

Jay hertz 35 Chevrolet phaeton in NM state appears to be vastly superior to the NY state 35 phaeton. Car I am now after from east coast is already a street rod and has been such since 1979 . Unfortunately the 76 year old owner is not looking to sell at this time. Even tho the car is not being driven to events any longer. Modifying a perfectly restored car would be my last resort. mike

Brewster, if they made it out of a Canadian built car, that would be the only one of 3 in 1935 that was produced for domestic use. They most likely built it out of one of 217 USA produced as it has the USA body lines on it. I have seen Troy Trepanies work before and it appears its a winner. Looks like this Chevrolet is going to be the first AMBR winner that isn't a ford.? Find out late sunday. Thanks for posting the picture, I could not figure out how I found it the first time and my attempt at copying it did not work. The only other time I have seen 34-35 USA stamped std phaetons made into street rods, was in rodders digest magazine January 83 , a red one.. There are a few holden AUZZIE bodied ones around down under. mike I just made a deal on the telephone , may 29/2016, to purchase the red one from 1981 rodders digest. Still same owner. mike lynch

THANKS PERRY ITS BE WHAT SEEMS A 36 YEAR JOURNEY SINCE I SAW THE CAR FEATURED IN 1981 RODDERS DIGEST COVER. THEN LAST YEAR A SEARCH FOR THE ORIGINAL OWNER CULMANATING IN FINDING HIM AND THE CAR STILL TOGETHER. I CONSIDER MYSELF EXTREMELY LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO ACQUIRE THE CAR FULLY RUNNING AND QUALITY BUILT TO GO WITH MY 3 WINDOW STD COUPE AND MY 35 ROADSTER STD SERIES UNDER CONSTRUCTION. LETS HOPE THE PICTURES MATCH THE CAR. MIKE LYNCH

That's Jay Hertz 34 or 35 phaeton , a soft yellow shade. Problem was for me its an AUSTRALIAN GM "holden body", different than a USA produced body. In may of this year 2016 after 9 month of trying to get owner to sell me his 1935 phaeton USA body. He dAVID DECIDED TO SELL IT TOO ME , Delivered to me in mid august here in Ontario CANADA I have what I believe to be the 2nd best 35 phaeton street rod. mike lynch

Congratulations Mike, can you post a picture or give us the details...Is it 350 and TH350? Jay I can never get this picture posting thing down. Its red acrylic lacquer, has 68 jaguar E type front end adapted to the 35 frame, rear end in a 1965 jaguar mark x independent, both all chrome plated. The wheels are jaguar wires with knock off system. Motor was a 350--350 TH with carb. About 1990 he installed a 305 thinking it was a 350 with 85 tuned port injection system and proceeded to chrome plate all that. Interior is stock seats with bridge of weir Scottish leather. Column is tilt and car has signals thru cowl and tail lights. Car also has full set of side curtains hidden behind rear seat. Owner had replaced all the floor panels with stainless steel, but I managed to purchase the originals at great expense, plus the stock dash, a stainless repo grill from K&D in PA and some other parts. Ordered 2 car covers for it from cover craft in OK , diff materials . I had an extra gm traffic light viewer and installed that on the dash so I can see the traffic lights without getting a sore neck when driving in town. Plan is to change the jaguar brakes to 4 piston Wilwood system all around as jag calipers and corvette master cylinders do not like each other and do not work well together. Will copy what I have in my 35 coupe as it works perfectly. Going out to cruise nites since I got it in mid august, soon as I stop and get out of it, there's a crowd around me asking questions. fantastic car..........mike lynch madmike3434 madmike3435

Mike, it's beautiful, congratulations. In my 76 years I've never seen a 35 phaeton in person and only two or three roadsters. To own either would be a dream come true....And you have both with a coupe to boot. I'm very envious, Jay

If anyone is interested in purchasing Jay Hertz's 35 Phaeton it's still for sale. Not that much money either.

Believe that was the NEW lower price Jay Hertz quoted me last winter. As I said to jay I preferred to find one already done into a street rod and not modify an existing restored car. There are differences in a USA stamped car panels and the HOLDEN GM Australia body. Easiest is to look at the windshield frame.....USA is 3 sides only, Australia is 4 sides. I know the cowl on an auzzie build is about 1 1/8" wider. Bruce sending you Jay Hertz contact info..........do all the math $35,000 USA x .30---.32 cents exchange rate per dollar====plus $10,500 exchange.==$45,500 Then the government takes its shot at you with 13% HST =$5915 for total of $51,415 Oh ya, you have to get it here $3000 ???? or go get it. I recommend TFX transport in Milton, did a great job and reasonably priced. mike lynch.......... madmike3434 madmike3435

I didn't realize it was a finished car. I would need to be in the 20-25K price range to deal my '50 on one...

WHAT HE IS SELLING IS A READY TO DRIVE RESTORED 34-35 STD PHAETON.
If YOU SEE ONE FOR $20--$25,000, UNFORTUNATELY YOU WILL HAVE TO GET IN LINE AS THERE WILL BE A STAMPEDE.
MOST OF THE ***WELL DONE**** 1933 MASTER , 1934 MASTER , 1934-35 STANDARD PHAETONS MINIMUM PRICE I HAVE SEEN IN 10 YEARS ON EBAY IS $35,000 MINIMUM.
bruce---HEY THERE IS ALWAYS LOTTERY TICKETS, CANNOT WIN IF YOU DON'T BUY A TICKET. Or start by flogging the 50-51 sedan to raise cash
NOTE, just got an email from Jay, he took a deposit on the car 2 weeks ago with time limit on coming up with balence

He copied me on that email as well.
The '51 will never be flogged for another project. My '50 convert... well, that's another story. It's in about the same shape as what you'd expect a 20-25k '32 to '35 open car to be... needing a full restoration.
