Can anyone explain why Chevrolet seemed to be parading around more than just the one "10 millionth" car in 1934? I find it odd that 10,000,021 would be a show piece... were all 21+ cars paraded around? The same man is in both pictures, the car has the same options (spot light) but the decals are different... is it the same car?

And is this the same car a few years later on moving day?

Seeing they had several thousand dealers in 1934 they would have had more than a few cars to show around and use for advertising.

Is that car right hand drive or did someone reverse the negative?

Parade, 1950. That convertible is so new that the fender skirts aren't even out of the trunk yet!

This is a photo we had developed from a negative we had found in a drawer bottom. It was taken in 1930 and shows my father-in- law's Whippet and his dad's 1929 Chevrolet. According to my father-in-law's recollections, his dad's car was notorious for snapping axles. I wanted to post it here earlier but could not find it. We found it the other day looking for something else.

Pat,
While the photo may have been taken in 1930 (haven't been able to blow up the license plate so I can read the year) the Chevrolet pictured is a 1927 Landau Sedan. The middle of the three sedans produced during the '27 model year. It is definitely a Canadian model with the nickle plated radiator shell and wood spoke wheels on a closed car. FYI, the US closed cars had aluminum shells and disc wheels. The open cars wood wheels. Just the opposite in Canada. BTW the other wheels were available at extra cost.

Have no idea the year of the Whippet. Not nearly as interested in it as the Chevy.

That's a first generation 32 sedan delivery to boot. Pretty rare car today. Some even believe no such car existed...Joe

Here's one that only fits the thread partly. My father reunited with his car. His photo was taken in 1942, three years before he purchased it. The car photo was taken this November, 71 years later. He was 28 in the photo. The car turned 80 when the 2014's came out. It sat in a field for over 50 years and has taken me 8 years to restore. I suppose we can call that a time warp. At the same time, I'd like to thank everyone here who has helped me over the years. ok

Wow! Thanks Jack!! Very interesting information! If you were painting a dark blue '37 standard tourer (which I am quite aways from being ready to do) which way would you lean for the wheel color(s)? The standard tourer must have been toward the less expensive, lesser decorated cars I would think. Ardie

Ardie, Do you have the Holden Body number tag , and Holden body paint tag on the cowl under the hood? If you do what is the paint abbreviation on the paint code tag?
Did you see the pictures of the 1937 and 1938 wheels which I posted?
Cheers Jack

Hey Bill, I think that is what he has it labeled, less the Bel Air.
