From what points do you measure rim size, 20 or 21 inches? (For 1928 truck) jim31chev

Measure the outer ledge where the tire bead seats. It is not easy to get that measurement so take the overall diameter then subtract the height of the outer rim twice.

Hi all. I was able to find some tires at Performance Tires in California. I am including the contact person's email address for anyone interested in contacting them (jcallo@performanceplustire.com). I found them to be very helpful. They did not have tubes so I went back to Coker Tires and ordered tubes and flaps. The tires are supposed to be delivered 10/9/13. I will post again when they arrive, I've been able to have them mounted and test driven 'em.
I have found rims through this wonderful site. One of our members contacted me through VCCA and offered a whole-truck as a parts resource with four rims. I am leaving Sunday morning to bring it home. Again, I will report how my travels go when complete and back home again. The main thing I wanted to say is that without the availability of this site, I would still be a frustrated young man (ah, actually "old" man), and still not be riding in my truck. For new members and old, just a reminder of what we have through VCCA is a truly great thing and we are fortunate to have not only this chat line, but knowledgeable monitors that keep it on track and moving.
Thank you all and everyone for reading, responding and for all of your suggestions and comments. I continue to be amazed at the enormity and usefulness of this VCCA site.

FYI, there is a rim for sale now on ebay that fits your truck.
Check out the following web address:

I also posted this in the 'Parts for sale' forum.

Have 8 rims and tires for a 28 car if that work? Don't know if they would fit or not?

Tiffin28, I'm sure someone else could use the rims and tires, but the rims and tires for a '28 1 ton truck are not the same as the '28 car.
Cheers, Dean
