Well When I picked up the Valve cover, we discussed other options, and welding plates was one. But because the are ato be cut out was so large and contained the curves, we would almost have to build a NEW valve cover. Figure about the top 1-2 inches has thin spots from corrosion.
At this point I am going to Try and build up the inside material with a Epoxy/ Resin and see how that works. I am also in the hunut for a replacement Cover. In those regards can I use ONLY the 1929 Cover or can I use a Cover from 1929-1931 or more ?? WITH OUT Modifications to the Cover ??

Do we KNOW when the change over from the Early Unvented Valve Cover to the Late Vented Valve Cover & Respective Push Rod Covers came about ??
My Engine is stamped E 1 9, Making it May 01, 1929 and it has the Sealed Valve Cover & Vented Push Rod Cover. Talked to a Gentleman who has a 1929 Stamped F 6 9, June 06, 1929 with the Vented Valve Cover & Sealed Push Rod Cover. Unless one of ours was changed somewhere down the line ??

Ok so maybe mine was near the end of that production, right before the switch over. Serial Number for my 1929 is 653xxx the one that has the Vented Valve Cover & Sealed Push Rod Cover is in the 843... Series.

For informational purposes only but the 29 valve cover is about 1/2" shorter in height than the 30 vented valve cover. I used ground down rod couplings and a washer when I was repairing my valve cover so I could still drive the car on tours. The studs through the rockers are shorter.

Valve Cover is all Primed & Painted and Ready to Install... Personally I Think it looks great :) I will not be installing it until I am doin with the rest of the Engine, 1929 Engine Timing/ Tune-Up [Plan of Action] Still need to install oil pan, fill er up with oil, fire it up and HOT set the valves. Valve Cover will most likely be one of the last things I reinstall and set on the Engine Valve Cover Pict 01Valve Cover Pict 02Valve Cover Pict 03
