I would start from square one and do the following. With engine running pump some Marvel Mystry oil on the valve stems to make sure no valves are sticking. Then remove spark plugs and put an ounce of MM in each cyl. and let stand over night. This will HELP to free any stuck rings.Run engine to warm up and burn off any MM.Now with engine warm test compression making sure starter is spinning engine over at proper speed. The biggest recommendation would be try a different compression gauge. Its very unlikely that all cyls. would be that low. Also engine would be hard to start and very lazy with comp. that low.

As I think that maybe with the low cranking power of my battery and a light duty positive battery cable (stated in a different post) I may not of had the speed I needed to get the commpression. I now plan to fix the clutch plate and give it a pull to start it. yipp Like Chev Nut mentioned, I to wondered why all pistons were so low and quite even. My tester is new and worked on my boys car so this test should answer my questions one way or another if it starts. If not, apart comes the motor. curse jerrygolf

I think I'm a fairly wise person because I'm smart enough to realise I'm not too bright.

Alex Taub was an Englishman. He must have known about the 20 HP Rolls-Royce.

If you have old Chevrolets, other old Chevrolets will find out where you live.
