I noticed that the 33 phaeton has 31/32 style hubcaps on it. Is that correct for a phaeton?

I suspect that the photo of the '33 Phaeton was an pre-production or prototype model. Often those vehicles used some parts from earlier year models as the actual production parts were not yet available.
CAUTION: Factory photos are often of pre-production or prototypes and/or artist retouched. That also goes for some sales literature. The photos were used for both internal and external promotional purposes and should not be considered to be 100% accurate to actual production.

I'll take a '49 Convertible right off the lot, please. Speaking of Chevrolets, this old Chevy truck is loaded up & ready to go. So is this one. This Fleetline looks like it could use a truck and some chain. As long as we're doing some Fleetlines, how about some WWII staff cars?

Nice Blackouts! I like how they cut the car number out of the top photo, then left it in the other ones...

Good catch, Bruce. Wonder if they were cut for security reasons or if they were driving another CO's car when they shouldn't have been? Something you'll never see nowadays... A Vermont woman posing next to a shiny '50 Styleline DeLuxe that just arrived at the farm. And from the GM photo store, this allegedly is a mockup of the "new for '41" Fleetline Sportmaster Sedan roofline.

I thought maybe the top photo got mailed, and had to go through the censor at the military base first. Maybe the next ones got carried home after the war...

I have a question. How does one go about finding old dealership photos? I have all the paperwork with my car from when it was bought new in 1930. And I would like to try and find a picture of the dealership where it was bought. It was Lawerence County Chevrolet, Moulton Alabama. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a city or state historical society, That could be a good start. Libraries sometimes have old photos also...Joe

I tried googling your 1930's dealership, but got zero hits. Local records or a local library would be your best bet. A couple of pictures for today. This 1957 210 Sportcoupe was posted to Vintage Toronto's Facebook page by Julie Kyle. The photo is from about 1960. From the H.A.M.B. Vintage photo thread is a camping shot from 1952, featuring a Deluxe four door sedan... And a very interesting view of what seems to be a Chevrolet factory lot at night in 1949. Interesting that the cars are all running!

1933 Showroom... A 1955 Airport limo. Seems to be sporting some jumbo sized tires... And I'll admit, it took me more than a minute to realize that there's a 1950 convertible and Fleetline in the back ground...

It was just pointed out to me... Are those 1947's on the truck from Flint? The grille on the car at the rear of the transporter looks like a '47 grille, but it is a bit of a blurry photo. Did Chevrolet make cars in Flint during 1946?

Don't know where they were made but that is definitely a 47 grille. there is a noticeable difference between 46 and 47. Really neat picture!

No belt moulding = 1947. Flint was the main plant so they probably were the first to deliver 1946 models.

Interesting Question: When did Flint Assembly start to produce 1946 vehicles after WWII? The data I have covering the assembly start and finish dates by model year has the Flint Plant column vacant for the 1946 model builds. The other assembly plants in the Chevrolet line started assembling vehicles as early as October 1945 and as late as September 1946 with the majority starting is April - May 1946. The Flint plant is listed but the data column has an X in each box.
I appears that Flint did not start to assemble Post War vehicles until May 1947 with the 1947 models. The other Chevrolet plants started the 1947 model builds in January 1947. Somewhere there must be an explaination for this but I have no idea why that occurred.

Oldie, Great information. I wonder a couple of things. What did Flint build during the War? If it required extensive modification of the assembly line it could have taken a long time to get it back to vehicle assembly. Did they continue to produce the war material after the war ended? Is there still anyone in the Flint area that worked at Chevrolet assembly during that period? Or were there stories in the Flint newspaper that might shed some light on the subject?
I have a Chevrolet assembled in the Norwood, oHIo plant in September 1943 so they apparently still had the vehicle assembly line throughout the war. Other plants may have also. They would have been the first to assemble civilian vehicles. Those converted for artillery, bomb, aircraft engines etc. would have been the last.
How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!
