Years ago my friend, Ralph, was harvesting on a Saturday when his combine broke down. He quickly called the implement dealer to get the needed repair. The dealer said he had the part, but Ralph had to get there quickly because the dealer had plans after closing at noon, and could not hang around.
Ralph headed to town (this was in C.B. radio days) and when he pulled onto the interstate, he got on the radio for the "Smokey Report". He received the "severe clear" reply so he was wasting no time. The all clear report turned out to be inaccurate and he was pulled over.
In his mind he was thinking ticket, no part, no harvesting, etc. The trooper came to the window and asked "may I see you pilots license?". Ralph, a pilot, gave the officer what he had asked for. The trooper examined it for a minute, handed it back to Ralph, walked back to his car, got in and drove away.
Ralph made to the store on time and got the needed part and a great story to tell.

This would have to be the best one in my opinion.

Cheers

Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great"

I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/
