Here's an old pic for today... a 1937 panel van, cut off into a pickup truck... I guess that's how you haul a fridge in a panel van!

Here's tonights photos... A 1958 Chevrolet Corvette in a nice Kodachrome shot, and a couple of new 1948's in downtown Oklahoma City, 1948. Both photos from a thread on the H.A.M.B. site...

If you care to know.....The picture with the '58 Corvette is a downtown Portland, OR
parking lot, right off the west end of the Morrison Brdg. The photographer would
have been on SW 2nd ave. The car is pointed toward SW Washington St.
The rear of the car is "pointed" toward SW Alder St. Some nice cars parked there
other than the Corvette....altho it's the "neatest" one by far.

I've gone by that lot 1000's of times in the 65 years I've lived in Portland.

Thanks for I.D.ing that one, Bill. I noticed the '52 convertible in the picture as well...

The car in Hopalongs picture may be a 37 or 38 Packard. Note that it has a trunk below the rumble seat. I know a fellow who hot rodded a 37. I wouldn't have done it since he had a 37 coach as a parts car too.

This sequence was posted by Tucker Fan 48 on the H.A.M.B. site. We see Downtown Chevrolet in Minneapolis, 1957. All of the new 1957's are lined up and ready to go. Then it's a Before and After of the site today. That's interstate 94 in the after photo...

Here's a brand new 1932 Landau Phaeton in a Chevrolet showroom, and a lot full of new 1939's. Am I right to assume the '39's are in Oakland with that ocean so close?

The 1949 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop Prototype is shown at the Waldorf Hotel in 1949. It is surrounded by one each of GM's other offerings for the year.



And a shiny new '49 convertible with a boot full of beauties... lucky guy!

From TheOldmotor.com comes this rare 1942 Blackout Police car used by the Missouri State Police. He's escorting a line painting crew on route 66. Also note the '38 coupe in the background.



And we go to see another record attempt up Pikes Peak in 1961 with a new Impala hardtop.

What happens when you leave your rare 1942 Sedan Delivery parked on the street...



And the fire dept. goes looking for water with their 1960 Delivery...

Ouch! A new quarter panel for that '42 is going to cost the insurance company $30 and 10/12 hrs labor at @2 to install.
They'll tell the shop to strighten it as they won't spend that kind of money.
