I'll throw in my two cents and wholeheartedly agree with Chev Nut. Some of the best advice (also mirrored in this string) is to listen to your engine builder. Mine sent me home with a zinc additive and emphasized that I continue to use one for future oil changes, as he had installed a new cam in the rebuild. This guy has built his business on Chevy engines.

For the first 2000 miles I would add the extra zinc. Would change the oil at 500 miles....after 2000 miles I would use QuakerState Defy. It has the higher amount of zinc. Reason - too much zinc isn't good either. Defy has almost twice as much as regular 10W-30 oils.
