computer I seen a few pictures of earlier Chevys with a suicide door. When did Chevy do away with the suicide front doors? I aways thought that they were eaier to get in and out of. And why did they keep the rear doors suicide? Wasn't it just as dangerous as having the front doors suicide?

Just wondering.... I've got to get out more often.

Okay, I acknowledge that the '35's only having the front door suicide. But why did Chevy do away with the rear doors on sedans opening that way? It seems that it would be easier getting in and out of.

A lot of the suicide doors had the nasty habit of opening of their own accord (especially on rough roads) while travelling which caused a lot of damage.

Class trip to a dairy back in 1940, driving down a gravel road when the girl next to me in the back seat of a car disappeared, suicide door opened and out she went, did not hurt her but what a scare. talk
