What is the size: inside diameter, outside diameter and length of the hose for a 1941 chevrolet coupe gas tank filler hose.

Mine is shot and I was wondering if the local parts houses may carry the right size hose.

Seems that when I get gas up more gets on the ground than in the tank. Its gotta be replaced.
Thanks,
Charlie computer

I know that CofF and FS carry them. You know.

I went to a Farm and Tractor shop and bought fuel hose from them to replace on our '40. I don't remember what the size was though.

Thanks for the tip. We have a tractor supply here. I'll try them.

Take the remains of the old hose or the filler neck with you for a sample size. Radiator hose generally is not compatible with fuel but diesel hose is compatible with petrol.

After cutting the bolts in the clamps loose (Had to cut them out with a disc on an air gun), I went to O'Riely's and lo and behold they had some lengths and sizes of straight hose. I bought a foot of it and had them cut a piece of it to the right length. Bought two new clamps and stuck her on. Perfect!

I'm going to save the old clamps for the 41 convertible because I think they are original.

Thanks to everyone who advised me on this, especially TonyW who told me to take the pipe with me. That was essential in getting the proper size, as it turned out.

I have been in your situation that many times I now take a sample every time I need a part that is a bit out of the ordinary.
