I have been going around in circles trying to find a paint formula for my 18" wire wheels(6 each)for my 1933. It has been determined that the correct color is Creme Medium and it matches the 1973 Toyota Yellow, but so far no paint manufacture has been able to come up with a formula or chip for me. Anybody here have the correct chip I could borrow or buy? Any suggestions?

Hoppy, I have about a dozen paint chips for cream medium. They are all different shades. The color was used into the 50s on Chevrolets with the same formula number which indicates the same color/shade. Which one is correct? I sure don't know.

60-1971 Triumph Jamaican Yellow (Acme #9241), is s excellent replacement for Cream Medium. I used it on my 35 Standard wheels. Don't know if the "Cream Medium" of 1933 is the same, but probably is. It has been a few years but that Acme # may still be good.

Hoppy: I have an old listing from Wayne Martin that lists Acme 91781, R-M 4602/T0224 and du Pont 93-530 or 246-6596 as "excellent" matches for Cream Yellow. The original 'modern' color he compared Cream Medium to was a '74 Toyota, color #T-528. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the info, I`m currently working with BASF paint systems to come up with a formula using that 74 Toyota T-528. I`m having them powder coated when I am satisfied that it will be an original color. These old chevrolets are sure fun trying to get them right. Hey PUSHROD!! If I get the color off a little, are you sure you won`t tell anyone??

hoppy you know i wont tell because i dont know the exact color . the color thing really opens a lot of questions especially in restoration some times you get lucky and get a car or truck that you can find the original color under a molding that has been protected from the elements and you can match other than that it a quess . even blacks and whites as there are more than ten shades of these . really it does not show up until you get the same year and model on the show field next to each other and that does not happen very often
