Gene thinks the 41 foot scrappers are the ugliest accessory for 41.

What do you think is the ugliest accessory for any given year up to ..say 41, or so?

I think wash-boards are the ugliest for 41.

What say yee?

BTW: Fultons don't count. It is accepted that they would win "hands down." No contest there. dance

I vote for that "over the top" radio antenna (can't remember the correct name) that I think was an option in 1937.

That might be what they called it. It was a big thing that ran above the whole length of the top.
Yes, that's it. I just googled it.

I agree, they look great on late 40's cars. A lot of people must have thought so back then because there sure were a lot of them around!

I'm going to leave the visor on my '41 too, but since we've got a picture up there to talk about (Ken's car), I'd like to ask about antennaes. My '41 has an antennae similar to Ken's, and I'd like to find one that will collapse further down, so that I don't have to deal with it when putting on or taking off the car cover. Does anyone have a source for an antennae that collapses down further?
Thanks,
Sid

6wheel,take the time to deal with the cover. The antennae in the pic is a NOS unit and I'm very careful with it.I lost the ball on the top and had to fabricate one.I did cut a hole in my cover and inserted a plastic groummet to slide around the anetnnae

Maybe a new cover would help with my antennae problem. The one I'm using on the '41 came with the car and is still in good condition. It has a hole w/ plastic around it for the antennae, but the cover doesn't fit very well around the mirrors antennae and hood ornament. I have California car covers on 3 other cars, and they do very well. The last one I bought was for my '31 coupe, and it has felt on the underside, which is really nice against the paint. The other reason I wanted to swap antennaes on the '41 was because this antennae was jammed up against the Fulton sun visor during shipment to me, and the paint on the visor was scratched (about 3 inches). I've touched it up, but I wanted to prevent a recurrance.
Thanks,
Sid
