I am looking into buying a 54 panel truck for a real good price, the only problem is i prefer the the front clip of a 47-53, i don't like the 54 grille style after it changed from the previous year. So my question is can i use a front clip from any of the prior year 47-53 and exchange it for what is currently on? Will everything match up? Hood, right and left fender, grille, splash pan.

That is almost funny because here in town I spotted a panel truck with the earlier front end. It wasn't until I walked up on it and saw the dash that I noticed the one piece windshield as well so my answer is that yes, apparently they will fit. Fenders will need to be changed alomg with the grille as the parklight indentions are on the 54 fenders where the earlier do not have them.

I seen one with the earlier front sheet metal at the turkey run and the hood did not fit too well on the top of the cowl,I dont know if it was the condition of the hood or could there be differences in the height of the cowl.
