Seems like the Safety Star with the red jewel in the center is the most wanted by collectors.Below is a repo of this item. The real deal is $1500 or more.

I like the "Remember Pearl Harbor" and the "Keep Um Flying" ones. Also, the Miami Beach with the Marlin (Swordfish or whatever) and the palm tree. beermugs

I don't care for the safety star at all. But that's just me. To each his own on this stuff. dance

Sorry I wasn't able to post a photo of my topper and had to use a link instead (see my posting above). I have had too many pills lately to seem to be able to do anything right but that should all end tomorrow with a small medical procedure. In any case, when my friend gave me this topper it was quite dirty so I did the unthinkable and tried to clean it up with a little soap and water. That took off the stuff that made a reflector out of everything that is red. It is still a nice topper but was much better before the cleaning. I could not find out anything about Mr. Edick or his business in Garrettesville, Ohio. I did talk with a person in a Chevrolet dealership there who thought it was that dealership who bought out Edick Chevrolet/Olds sometime around the mid '50's, but there wasn't anyone there who could remember anything else. I sent a letter of inquiry to the Garrettesville Chamber of Commerce but never heard from them. I guess I will just enjoy the topper and not worry about any of it's history. I don't imagine there are many like it still around today. Beamer
