What is this and what is it for. Looks like one end is ground, the other is on ![[Linked Image from pic50.picturetrail.com]](http://pic50.picturetrail.com/VOL401/9967837/17988031/398023677.jpg) the charge side of amp-meter. Also, where do I find a new one as I was told mine is no good. On a '48.

That is part of the noise suppression system for the radio. If you leave it off in most cases it will not be noticed. If you insist, then purchase a condenser for the 1954 distributor, which is still available and install it.

 Ha Ha, Ray, that much I could understand. What I don't understand is, do I install it under the dash where the old one was with the lead running to the same post as in the pic? Or some where else?

Sorry, I misread, it is installed exactly as the original one. Connect the wire and then find a ground to attach the unit with the clamp that you can reach.

You will find that your car uses more of those condensers. Each one can be replaced with the 1954 condenser. The most important one is the generator.
