Lucas electrics are known as "the prince of darkness" because of the regular failure to function.

Put a 1959 235 in my '38 sedan back in the '80s. Drove it for a while then started to rebuild it but ran out of time and money. If memory serves, I had the shaft on the 235 water pump shortened and had a pulley modified to line up. It wasn't perfect but worked. I'm wanting to finally get back to this project and read a bunch of the responses to this topic. Can someone clue me in on what the adapter plate is and where to get it? I still had to move my radiator forward about 1.5 in. Would like to not have to do this.
