Greetings !

Can you help me decode my Grandpa's '36 Chevy VIN Codes?
STYLE # 36-1211
BODY # J15955Z
TRIM # 50
PAINT # 202

He died right before I was born in '59 but my cousin has the VIN plate & several parts before the hulk was scrapped years ago. I'd just like the specs to go with the pictures. Many thanks for your help !! Phil

1936 MODEL 1211: STANDARD SERIES TOWN SEDAN
BODY: JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN FISHER PLANT, sequential # 159552?

The serial number should be 21FC then digits for the assmebly month then the sequential #.

The trim code refers to the upholstery. #50 was a brown mohair...and that was the only choice for a Standard.
