I have not asked for help before but I need to start.

I am working on a 1934 4 door Master. The ground wire going to the dome light has a bad connection to the frame. The interior has been replaced (by someone else) and I don't know where the ground wire connects to the frame. Can someone tell me exactly where that connection is so I don't wreck the new interior or anything else trying to find it? Thanks.

Hi There and Welcome to Chevy Chatter II. It is great to have you with us.

On a 1932 Chevrolet, the dome light ground wire is attached to the inside of the right front top of the metal body above the windshield and behind the windshield wood header board. It might be in the same location on a 1934 but I don't know for sure.

On my '35 Standard, the wire follows a roof rib directly to the passenger side where it is anchored to a bolt that goes through the roof sheet metal and body wood.

Is it possible to lower the headliner without damaging it to repair the dome light and then just re-install it?

The following is from the 1934 Fisher Body manual.
First I would add the hot wire goes from the head light switch to the dome light proper.
"The feed wire for the dome light on 1934 body styles, follows up the right front body pillar an along the underside of the roof structure to the right center body pillar where it is attached to the dome light switch. From the switch the wire leads up the center pillar and across the under side of the roof to the dome light. The ground wire runs from the dome light to a roof rail cover panel bolt which goes which goes through the crown roof rail almost directly above the right rear quarter window. The ground wire is fastened between the nut and washer on the bolt."
