I have a couple of bodies to what I believe are 34 5 window coups. I need information on them. Were all 5 windows Master series? I believe the body that is on a frame is on a standard frame. I have been told all masters had knee action and this frame is leaf spring.

Hi, all 34 Standard Coupes were 3 window. The 34 Master Coupes had 3 windows if they had rumble seats and 5 windows if they didn't have rumble seats, as far as I know. All 34 Masters had knee action, but in 35 and 36 you could get the Masters with or without knee action. Knee Action was used in 37 and 38 in the Master Deluxe series. In 39 Chev went to the wishbone and coil spring front suspension for the Master Deluxe.

If your body still has the dash board in it, the Standards had the gauges in the center, but Masters had a glove box on the right and gauges on the left.

David, did you discover what body you have?

The other difference about Master bodies is the way the rear fenders bolt on. Master rear fenders bolt under the outer lip of the body and the Standard fenders bolt on to the vertical surface of the inner fender. Masters also have holes on edge of the hood louvers where chome stips can attach.
