Hi Jonjet,

Hotel registrations will be taken starting August 2 or 3, 2010. When I talked with the Holiday Inn this morning their computers did not have the VCCA rate set up yet. The phone for the meet headquarters hotel, Holiday Inn Gateway, is 810-232-5300. The Marriott across the street from it is 810-232-3500. Both hotels will honor the $99 a night VCCA rate (as soon as their computers get set up for it).

Meet registration itself will begin in February, 2011.

The meet schedule is posted in another forum here on Chevy Chatter II.

Look forward to seeing you in Flint!

If I can't be at the 50th Anniversary Show, next July, for the whole week, what are the best days to be there? I want to have my car judged for correctness of the restoration, see all the other cars, meet people and go to the swap meet. I can't seem to find the schedule of events that I thought I saw posted earlier. As soon as I know the schedule, I will be able to make hotel reservations

Flint, Michigan Holiday Inn Gateway Centre Reservations:

You can make reservations for the 50th Anniversary Meet by:

1. Call 1-810-232-5300 - Flint Holiday Inn
2. Ask for the Front Desk - in Flint
3. Give them Block Code "VCC"
4. Tell them you are with the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America
5. Make reservations for the Meet which runs from Sunday July 17th, 2011 thru Friday - late afternoon July 22nd, 2011. You decide if you want to leave Saturday morning July 23rd or not.

If you call 1-810-232-5300 and ask to make reservations, I believe that The Flint Holiday Inn sends your phone call to India or ? The Central Reservations Center for Holiday Inn has not yet figured out that will be in Flint next year.

I find this disturbing. I tried to book reservations yesterday at 9:00 am EDT and was told that a block of rooms were being held but that no rate or group identifier was listed. I just tried again this morning at 8:30 am EDT, same response. Like yesterday, I was told to call back again tomorrow. Whem I question the booking clerk on why others have stated that they were able to make reservations, I was told that they were most likely made using the standard rate.

I made my reservation about 8:50 yesterday morning. I did not ask about the rate. I think what ever the rate is I'll be there and we can work things out when we arrive. I'm sure Dave will let us know the rate when it is determined. All I need now is a registration form for the meet.

The Internet booking is yet not working to make possible reservations for the Anniversary.

When will it be possible to make reservations through this page below?

http://www.holidayinn.com/hotels/us...michigan+holiday+inn&siclientid=1952

Using the group code VCC does not work yet, so hopefully someone could help us to a full service, updated web page here?

I made my reservation this morning with no problem. When I asked for the FRONT DESK they asked me if I was with the VCCA. The one thing I found out today was that they give you a five digit confirmation number instead of a normal one do the the fact I made the reservation so early. Just a little bit of information for everyone.

We have been informed that the hotel will not be accepting reservations before end of the month, or am I remembering wrong? So why the sudden change?

Why cannot International members be allowed to use the Internet pages of the hotel, to save money and get a safe reservation? We would love to join as well.

The system is not accepting our VCC or check out date, so far, as to my attempts.

I just made my 5 night reservation per Toolman's directions. The process worked exactly as he said. Received the $99 rate & a 6 digit confirmation number. I also gave them my email address and received a confirmation reply within 2 minutes.

I hope that all of the gliches that were in the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre's reservation computer have been worked out. Solan, you are right, originally the Holiday Inn was going to accept reservations about the middle of August. They changed their minds and opened up the reservations for 8-1-10.

Thanks, but that will need 10 - 14 days both ways. We are living in 2010 now and the Internet should be very easy for most people to use. Most bookings here in Norway are done through the web and so are the air tickets.

Hope an Internet reservation is ready in the next days for all VCCA Internet users.

Back Roads I take exception to your comments about members who travel and tour with RVs and our Chevrolet's. We demand the same attention as the members who stay in the Host Hotels. Perhaps one solution would be to make an RV park the Headquarters and you could lead the folks out each morning to start the daily activities. I have attended every Anniversary Meet since Downingtown PA. This is the first meet where our interest has not been met. We demand the same attention.

Why don't the moderators move all the communications about the Flint Anniversary Meet from this thread to the one specified for 50th Anniversary information. This would consolidate all the information on the Anniversary Meet.

Yes, I know that is an area only for members, but only members can attend the Anniversary Meets.

Antique Mechanic, Lighten up on these guys. Registration hasn't been open for a week yet and you are taking them to task with words like "We demand" and "Unacceptable". Remember these are volunteer who are doing their best to plan an event for ALL of us. I'm sure that a "Request " for additional services will get the same attention as a "Demand". Perhaps a VCCA member who lives near the host site can tell us about a RV campground that would be more suitable than the ones provided by the visitors bureau. If there aren't any, I guess we'll just have to make do with what's available. I'd like a 409 that gets 30 MPG but that's not going to happen either.
