I have a mint original 1954 Bel Air wagon and am wondering what I can spray over the Di-Noc Transfers (tape) to keep it from drying out. I noticed that clear lacquer was NOT recommended. They used "Transfer Top Coat R.M. XP-2857". What the heck is that? Any help would be appreciated.

If it were mine I would use a furniture polish like Pledge. Even though it is not a real varnished surface like furniture it will be very mild and should prevent further drying of the decal. I would not recommend putting any clear coat or other top coat over the old decal. I have used Pledge on dash decals with good results.
Sounds like a great wagon.

Thanks. The literature I have copies of shows a guy spraying on the Transfer Top Coat. That's the material I would like to ID.
If you're ever in the Twin Cities area give me a call.
