My wife drives a 71 chev 3/4 ton camper special, pretty well stock. At our upcoming show and shine up here we have one of the catagories just for 67-72 chev/GMC pickups. You would sure be welcome to show if you had nothing else to do that day. It's on the 19th of September. If you are interested, let me know and I'll get you a flyer and registration form. Should be fun. I think that body style pickup is probably the most popular truck ever made. Have a great evening and thanks for the contact.

Hi Nick! My 1972 Cheyenne was purchased new in Medford, Oregon at Courtesy Chevrolet. That dealer no longer exists. Anyway, the truck is also a 3/4 ton camper special with factory saddle tank, tool box, tilt wheel, air conditioning and etc. The truck also has the wood grained exterior trim and the deluxe saddle interior. At present the odometer is showing 68,000 miles, and the truck is completely stock...including the split rims.

Thanks for the offer but we are having a big barbecue at my doghouse on September 19th for all of the hounds and mutts in the area so I will be tied up that day. Sounds like the show and shine up your way is going to be a fun event.

Am I right that the 72 version offered more options than the 71? For example ac? Anyway I'd like to either organize or join a club for 67-72 owners. Do you know of any?

I know of one dude locally that has a '72 Cheyenne with about 200,000 miles on the vehicle. He uses it for daily transportation. Also, in this area, there are a lot of 1967-72 Chevy/GMC trucks....tons of them. Don't know the owners of these vehicles but I see them on the road and at car shows all the time.

As I recall, the '72 version did offer a few more goodies than what was available in 1971.

I suggest you join the VCCA and then form a non-geographic region for 68-72 Chevy truck owners. I am sure there are two tons of them already in the VCCA. They just need an organizer to get them together. I would expect the the JYdog would be one of your charter members. If you include Blazers, then I could also be one!

I was once a member of a club in Salem, Obsolete Fleet (GM Haulers 41-72 Trucks) You could check with the Salem Chamber to learn if they are still around.
