I have conferred with 4 other people who run Chat Forums similar to ours. They have come up with some suggestions - one of which I just installed at 5:30 pm PDT today. Please let me know what performance issues you see in the next day or two. Thanks.

Bill,
So far the speed is back to near normal. That is normal for a month or so back. Earlier today I could not get on for extended periods and when I did sometimes the speed was okay and others painfully slow. A couple of times the connection timed out before anything happened. Sure hope this recent performance continues. Maybe some that got frustrated and left will eventually come back.

The site is useless as I write this entry. My old dial up was much faster. Things are not constant. I have been on today when it was super fast and great fun to surf, now it is touch and go!

it seems to be about the same speed as a couple of other forums that I frec. That is what I go by since that should equalize out my own server speed.

  Yesterday morning, the site was so fast I thought my ISP had shifted me from DSL to their answer to Roadrunner. Today it is about what it has always been although it took a while for a posting I made to come up. Other than than, no problems. Beamer

I was reading and posting at normal speed until about 30 minutes ago. Then it stopped DEAD. I got the dreaded "timed out" error. A few minutes ago it came back to life. Looks like the cyber gremlins are still at work.

The speed is more consistent but I notice the picture I posted of my coupe a couple of days ago didn't make the trip.  Even clicking on the link to view the full size pic just brings up a blank window.

Billy Boy Barker: I just tried to come back on to CC II and I received this error message and I couldn't get to the site: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /var/www/vhosts/vcca.org/httpdocs/forum/libs/ubbthreads.inc.php on line 598 Chev Nut had the same problem as well. What's up with that?

I need to log in each time inspite of the fact that I punch "remember me".....and its necessary to log in three or four times before it recognizes my names??? Its more screwed up than before.

Gene, when you do get logged in do this: click on the remember me box and go back to this page: https://vccachat.org/ubbthreads.php/forum_summaryThen add it to your FAVORITES list. once that you do this if you don't have "cookies" blocked when you click on the saved favorite it will return you to the https://vccachat.org/ubbthreads.php/forum_summarypage, at least it does me Also go to your "MY STUFF" and click on EDIT Profile, don't change anything, just write down all the info on a tablet that you can go back to in case you forget who you are. I forget who I really am every time that Billy changes gears on the chat. I have had a lot of practice trying to get back on the site.
