Because I don't understand modern mechanics and the electrical (read computer systems) of newer vehicles my mechanic suggested I buy an older truck, put a newer in line 6 in it, add a A/C and drive it. I'll do that before before I'll buy something the gov't can watch my every move and make me pay for it type vehicle.

Somebody is selling this idea to these state governments so they can sell their GPS units. Again, how will they enforce it on non-residents passing through the state.
However, this is probably developed for cars with 12 volts. It will not work on 6 volts, hopefully.

I'm going to step in and ask that we migrate away from the Government talk and get back to car-talk! But, to satisfy your pent-up demand for expressing your red-blooded opinion, here is a site where you can EASILY tell your congressmen, and women, what you think! http://www.conservativeusa.org/mega-cong.htm Let's get back to Chevy talk. Thanks.

Bill,
I agree with your thoughts. Altho the whole 'stimulus' idea is a hot one. And on everybody's mind. Nonetheless, best to drop out on that stuff on our OLD CAR forum.
Personally, I offer a big THANK YOU for the info on how to contact the big shots. You can bet I'm going to burn up the air waves with your info on how to contact THEM.
Bill.

Darn...and I was just getting stimulated.
Ok. So the latest is that GM might have to say bye-bye to Saturn. My brother and his kids had Saturns and they all loved them. (oh well)
So do ya all think GM can pull it out with dumping only one brand? It seems like Chevy is safe for now however I don't see GM holding on to both truck divisions. Seems to me, one of them may also go unless they leave Chevy to carry the light trucks and GMC carries the heavy duty trucks.
Whatcha think guys?

Thanks guys.... you're really great to work with. I went to two swapmeets during the last two Saturdays. Lots and lots of cars for sale... and very few buyers. Everyone was talking about how the prices were pretty reasonable yet no one was buying. Now, for the record, there were a lot of cars still going for full price and it was pretty apparent that they were whistling in the wind. It would appear that we are in for some tough times. As long as gas stays around $2, we should all just drive and enjoy our cars. I didn't have a punchline to this dialogue. I'm too tired to think straight tonight. Been trying to wire the new RediRad in my corvette for the past two nights. Finally got it working tonight. By the way, there is a great site that you might want to visit -- it's Tom Bodet's blog. Well worth reading. Here's a sample: Reproduction or distribution of any article or portion of this website - such as copying and pasting into an email to send to all your crummy friends, or harrassing pregnant women, or for implementation as a floatation device -- is strictly prohibited without written permission from Bodett.com. We mean it. Don't do it. Steps will be taken. Oh yes. Steps will be taken. (Unless you really want to, then go ahead. We don't care.) http://www.bodett.com/ A ha! Maybe I did have a punchline afterall!

Ok, Billy Boy Barker, I get it, you posted the link to "We'll leave the light on" guy's web site to get us back for starting and posting stuff onto this political thread just as a payback...I do admit that Old Tommy Boy Bodett will start you to thinking about why you scratch your head, even when you don't have dandruff. Right on guy...... Have a good life, if that is possiable after hitting the L year.
P.S. I don't have an Ibook but I do have a dickshunery, I mostly use it to prop up my magazene in viewing mode while I use both hands to work on my Oscar Meyer Dagwood, aka Subway double meat all the way Club. I can prove it by the mustard, Ranch dressing, and tomato juice stains on my XXL "Chat.org is where it is at, 7-24" tee shirt.
Life's a long winding trail, love Jesus and ride a good horse!
