My car came without the rear bumper, brackets, and tail light assembly. I have obtained all of these parts through different sources. I just want to make sure I have the right pieces. Starting with the brackets: I assume they are the "offset" type (part numbers 474040 & 474039) due the the hump in bumper to accommodate the spare tire. Does "offset" mean extra bend? and are they supposed to be the same shape? The right bracket has the step pad attached for a rumbleseat and it has an extra bend in it (Damage?) The bumper is twice as thick as the other bumper I was able to get and it is 2" longer (doesn't fit). Could just need to be bent a little in the middle as it does have a small dent there. How to attach the tail light bracket is another issue. I think I must need some kind of spacer(s) (Part number 364260) too. I just need a good diagram of how it all goes together. Nothing in the manual or parts books that I have.

Mike,
Some of my catalogs have bumper diagrams and measurements. These would tell us if you have the correct face bar. I'll try to dig one out for a look. I just remembered, I'm supposed to be looking for a throttle rod for you. I'll get on it.

The 474039-040 brackets fit 1933-35 Standard - all body styles. They would be of the same shape but just reversed for left and right. The step plate would have been used on coupes with a rumble seat. Only the rare 1933 Standard rumble seat coupe and the 1934-35 Std. roadster would have had a rumble seat, akk very rare models. I would suspect this bracket is from ??.
Looking down from the top the brackets will be like a "J" laying on its back. The distance between the frame bolt hole and the end bolt hole (center to center) will be 9 13/32". Looking at the end of the bracket that bolts to the bumper (towards the center) , going straight out the the end bolt (which is verticle) is 13 1/2". Thats where a 1/2" off set comes in but its dosent show exactly where. That last 13 1/2" demension is measured parallel with the rear of the brace, not running at an angle directly towards the outer end of the bumper....hope this isnt too confusing.
The tail light bracket, which cast for the Standard and stamped for the Master is mounted between the end of the frame and the bracket....between the frame and bracket.

NO-The Master had the stamped and the Standard the cast....I had a Master for many years and even found a new in the box accessory lamp for the right side and it was also stamped. The seam ran dound the front of the bracket (facing the car)

I'm beyond senior moments laugh
